FISHING

Fishing in Wester Ross offer the visiting angler all that's best in game fishing amongst some of Scotland's most magnificent scenery. There are waters to suit all anglers from roadside lochs to remote spate rivers seldom visited let alone fished.

Salmon and Sea Trout fishing in Scotland is strictly controlled, yet readily available, but you must have proper permission before fishing. The notion that fishing in Scotland is free is a myth, the right to fish belongs to the land owner and you must obtain proper permission first.

Maps

To be able to find the best waters, we recommend the following Ordinance Survey sheets O.S.24 and O.S.25 for the immediate area.

Sea Fishing

Wavecrest is situated on the northern shoreline of Upper Loch Torridon, whether casting from the shore or in a boat you will find mackerel, codling, pollack and many others from about July onwards. If you want to go further a field, it is possible to get one of the local fishermen to take you on a fishing trip where skate and ling are always possible.

Full details of all the available fishing within Ross & Cromarty can be found at the cottage, including prices and telephone numbers for all the more productive hill lochs and rivers.
